Summary: Brilliant machine

Comment: Vax 6131 is brilliant vacuum and washer. It is easy to assembly and very easy to use. This vacuum is value for money and if you have pets is also ideal. I really recommend it.

Summary: Good vacuum; poor washer

Comment: Bought one of these after using a relative's and being impressed by its performance as a vacuum cleaner. My real need however was for a carpet washer. Used it only three times as a washer during the guarantee period. The fourth time I tried to use it the washer pump failed to work. It was, expensively, repaired and worked several times before the pump failed again. It continues to work well as a simple vacuum but I feel there is a weakness involving the pump.

Note: Even when the pump is working, washing a carpet is slow and hard work.
I would not recommend this machine. It is poor value for money.

Summary: Best value on market

Comment: Best washer / vacuum on the market.
This will suck nearly as well as all of our Dyson's we've owned. It washes nearly as well as the expensive pro cleaners and it is tough. All of the filters are washable. The card filter will wash in warm water with a dash of soap powder.
Much better over all than everything else on the market. My only criticism is the 2 catches that attach the top to the base are badly designed and many people will snap them. I think other than that it's the best vacuum aroung. Don't wash your carpets with company or you might be embarrassed by how dirty the waste water is, no matter how clean you think your carpet is.
I bought an upholstery head sepperately for sofa etc and got verty good results. The only real probllem is that all your friends will want to borrow it when they see how good it is.

Summary: Brilliant Machine

Comment: I have owned this Vax for a number of years and it works perfectly every time. I have always used it for cleaning the carpets, having a dog, this can be quite often. It brings the carpets up nice and clean and they dry fairly swiftly. For the first time I actually used it as a dry cleaner and it worked very well. It is a bit of a nuisance having to convert it from wet to dry but other than that its very good. I only used it because my normal Dyson machine is playing up.

So its a good purchase overall.
