Summary: New vax vaccuum

Comment: I bought this vaccuum on the strength of the reviews already written. I needed to swap from my 3 year old Morphy Richards bagless vac that has suddenly decided to go bang. I did not check whether this new one had a setting for the diffent types of flooring, I thought they all came with it??? It doesn't. I used it last night for the first time and was very impressed with the suction, it picked up enough dust and bits to shock me (must hoover more!!) However, although is is very light weight and no bother to carry up stairs, it is hard work pushing it around the floor, probably becuase the suction is so good and there are no alternative height settings. Overall happy with my purchase and would recommend.

Comment: Having finally returned to the uprights & searching the web, reading the reviews,I can honestly say this is value for money. The assembly was simple to understand, the pictures helped & only needing 3 screws in all to put together. It sucks up well, including cat hairs. The cord is long enough to do all the rooms in my upstairs 3 bed maisonette, however, one can get tangled somewhat & caution not to let it near the turbo brushes for fear of ! ! ! . I found that by looping it twice around the handle underneath your hand will keep it from getting caught up.The slight downside is that it does not have an adjustment for surfaces, so the thicker carpets need more strength to push it around, but it brings them up as new. In using the attachments this can be awkward in detaching the nozzle from the main frame & onto the extension, but as it vacs up along the edges of the carpets/skirtings, there is not much need to use handheld extension nozzle, unless for a specific purpose. It is light & easy to move & stores away neatly. A very satisfied customer indeed.

Comment: I've always had a cylinder hoover in the past & always thought that going for the highest powered motor was the best option. WRONG! After deciding to try an upright, i decided to go for the vax vs-193s turbo after searching through many, many reviews. I recommend this hoover without a doubt, I am amazed by the suction, even when full it never loses its power. The hose may be shorter than some models but as it is lightweight this is no problem for the stairs.
